parka jacket Watkins Glen New York Hikes

Watkins Glen Ny Hikes

We going on the Gorge Trail, then to the South Rim trail to Punch Bowl lake area of the finger lakes trail then back again onto the Indian trail, finally returning to the parking area through the Gorge trail. We were a little disappointed at how built up the walls and fences were, which made it harder to actually begin to see the falls. The Gorge trail had a fair amount of foot traffic, whereas the Rim trail was completely empty saw no one. An equivalent hike may be the Robert H. Treman/ Enfield Glen near Ithaca which is a smaller amount crowded, more accessible and incredibly enjoyable.

WGSP would be a great day hike! If parka jackete unsure what to do when parka jacket get there, definitely take the Gorge trail. its absolutely beautiful! The stairs and narrows passages can definitely slow down parka jacket progress if parka jacket get there around midday when its typically busier, and so i suggest venturing out there at the start of the morning, but bring parka jacket coat if it is early spring or fall after September, as possible around 10-20 degrees colder in the gorge.

About the downside, I was disappointed how short the hike was. I think we went all the way from the north lot towards the south lot and back did the Gorge on the way down and also the Indian Trail in route back and it took around an hour approximately. If parka jacket are planning to be driving from a lot more than an hour or so away, parka jacket may be able to find areas who are around parka jacket which are really fun without having to drive so far, but if parka jacket are in Watkins Glen, this hike is essential.

My best advice: take an early morning hike with parka jacket hiking buddies, girlfriend, wife, etc. after which go out to the east part of seneca lake for many from the great wine tasting that they are noted for! Definitely worthwhile! Then remain at among the great B in the area. we went there two years consecutively now from 5 hours away! The 2nd trip has been better still, but well observe how the coming year goes!
